MY Real Estate School (“we”, “us”) runs alabamarealestateclass.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit the site, enroll in a class, buy from our shop, contact us or sign up for text messages, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Enrollment and order details: your name, email address, phone number, billing address (and shipping address for books), the class and class date you choose, and your order history.
- Payment information: card and PayPal payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal. We don’t see or store your full card number.
- Account information: if you create an account or use the Student Portal, your login details and the courses and materials you can access.
- Messages you send us: what you enter in our contact and question forms, emails and phone calls.
- Text message opt-ins: your mobile number and your consent to receive texts.
- Usage information: pages you visit, the device and browser you use, your approximate location from your IP address, and the site that referred you. We collect this with cookies and similar technologies (see below).
How we use your information
- To enroll you in classes, process payments, send confirmations, class details and materials, and give you access to the Student Portal.
- To keep attendance and completion records and to report course completion as required by the Alabama Real Estate Commission.
- To answer your questions and provide student support.
- To send you emails and text messages about upcoming classes, exam prep and offers, if you have agreed to receive them. You can opt out at any time.
- To understand how the site is used, measure our advertising, and improve our courses and website.
- To prevent fraud, keep the site secure and meet our legal obligations.
Text messages (SMS)
If you opt in, we may send you text messages about your classes, upcoming class dates, exam prep and offers. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time, or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase.
We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or text message opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Your mobile information is shared only with the service providers that deliver our messages on our behalf.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run our school and this website:
- Payment processors: Stripe and PayPal process payments; Affirm, if you choose to finance a purchase.
- Online course partner: online courses are delivered on The CE Shop’s learning platform (LEAP). When you buy an online course there, The CE Shop collects your information under its own privacy policy.
- Service providers who work on our behalf: website hosting (Kinsta), email marketing (Mailchimp), customer messaging and forms (HubSpot), record keeping (Google Workspace), online classes (Zoom), and shipping carriers for books and study materials.
- Analytics and advertising: Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, which help us understand site traffic and measure our ads.
- Regulators and legal requirements: the Alabama Real Estate Commission and testing providers when required for licensing, and others when required by law or to protect our rights, students or the public.
Cookies and tracking
We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your cart and class selection, and understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics, HubSpot and the Meta Pixel set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site, such as checkout, need cookies to work. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out browser add-on, and manage ad preferences in your Google and Facebook account settings.
How long we keep information
We keep enrollment, attendance and order records for as long as we need them to provide our courses, answer questions about your education history, and meet legal, tax and licensing requirements. We delete or anonymize other information when it’s no longer needed.
Your choices
- Email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- Text messages: reply STOP to any message.
- Your information: contact us to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. We may need to keep some records, such as course completion and order records, where the law requires it.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and payment processors that meet card industry security standards, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Children
Our courses are for adults. The site isn’t directed to children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.
Links to other sites
Our site links to other websites, such as The CE Shop, the Alabama Real Estate Commission and testing providers. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
